BIOGEOMON 2026 is almost here, and we are excited to welcome you to Umeå for what will be the largest BIOGEOMON conference to date. The conference begins on Sunday evening with the Welcome Reception and continues through four days of scientific exchange centered on this year's theme, Ecosystems in Transition. The programme is now finalized, featuring hundreds of presentations, poster sessions, plenary lectures, and field excursions that reflect the breadth and vitality of ecosystem biogeochemistry research. With more than 500 participants from around the world, BIOGEOMON 2026 promises to be an exceptional opportunity for scientific discussion, networking, and collaboration. Before travelling, please take a moment to review the latest programme, excursion information, maps, and practical details on the conference website. 🧭 Scientific ProgrammeThe BIOGEOMON 2026 scientific programme can now be found online. We encourage all participants to review the schedule, browse abstracts, and plan their conference week in advance. The conference begins on Sunday with registration and the Welcome Reception, followed by four days of scientific sessions, plenary lectures, poster sessions, networking events, field excursions, and workshops. | 🧭 Poster PresentationsPoster presentations will take place in dedicated sessions on Monday and Tuesday, with scheduled discussion time for each poster. Exact times and locations can be found in the final programme: Poster setup: Posters can be installed from Sunday, 7 June 2026 at Skogis Kårhuset. Poster boards and mounting materials will be provided, and posters will remain on display throughout the week. Presenters are expected to be present during their assigned session to discuss their work with participants. 🏆 Best Poster Competition All poster presenters are automatically eligible. Two awards will be given—one for Best Content and one for Best Novelty, kindly supported by the New Phytologist Foundation. | 📊 Presentation Uploads📊 Presentation UploadsSpeakers are urged to upload their presentations by 17:00 on the day before their presentation via the presenter upload link. Presentations can also be uploaded or previewed in the Speaker Upload Room (NAT.C1.301). If necessary, presentations may be brought on a USB stick to the upload room for assistance. As a last resort, speakers may bring their presentation on a USB stick to their presentation room during the break immediately before the session. Using this naming format helps us place presentations in the correct lecture hall and session folder. | 🌲 Field ExcursionsField excursions will take place on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, with visits to research sites in the Krycklan Catchment, peatlands, forests, and agricultural landscapes in northern Sweden. All excursions depart from Umeå Central Station (Järnvägstorget). Departure times vary by bus and excursion—please check the schedule carefully for your assigned group. Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. Your name badge indicates your excursion group, and switching buses is not possible as most are at full capacity. Buses depart strictly on time. - Full-day excursion: Krycklan (water, forest, peatland systems)Distance: ~60 km from Umeå (~1 hour bus ride)
- Half-day excursion: Röbäcksdalen (return ~13:00)
Fika and lunch are provided. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. |
